When we talk about messaging and video chatting tools, the first name that springs to our mind is Skype. When bought by the Microsoft in 2011, Skype has already managed to receive a huge following even before that, and user base has continued to rise ever since. Now here comes Skype for Business – an extension of the primary Skype that replaced Windows Messenger for a good reason.
A replacement to the Lync, Skype for Business combines features of Lync and the consumer software Skype. It is free and reliable for small businesses, perhaps that’s the reason why most of the businessmen now are relying more on it as compared to the cost-generating land-line telephone numbers. Skype for Business lets you conduct meetings, instant messages, as well as voice and video activities on your smartphones or tablets, making it easy for you to run & manage your business efficiently. It lets you know whether someone is available or missing in a meeting or presentation, or just hover over the person you likes to connect with. By entering the main window, the user can effortlessly find contacts, make audio or video calls, or broadcast a meeting online to a broad audience.
Once you get started, it let you create IM or video conversation, add up to 250 people to online meetings, manage employee accounts, look at your meetings ahead and more. While Skype for Business is on your device, you can simply enhance business’ security through Active Directory Authentication Library (ADAL). Also, one can share the screen and have others keep control to help out. To make full use of the Skype for Business Mobile app, you need to have a Skype for business or Lync account; however, some functions might require an update or might not be available to all users. In case, you’re missing out something about your account status or finding it difficult to signup, contact your IT department.
